Scope

With this data privacy statement, users receive information about the nature, scope and purpose of the collection and use of your data, which are collected and used by the responsible provider. The legal framework for data protection is formed by the Federal Data Protection Act (BDSG) and the Telemedia Act (TMG).

Collection of General Information

Every time you access this offering, we and/or the web space provider automatically collect information. This information, also referred to as server log files, are of a general nature and cannot be traced back to specific individuals. Information collected includes: Name of website, file, date, amount of data, web browser and web browser version, operating system, domain name of your internet provider, the so-called referrer URL (the page from which our offering was accessed) and the IP address. Without such data, it would not be possible technically to some extent to deliver and display the contents of the website. The collection of data is imperative. In addition, we use the anonymous information for statistical purposes. They help us to optimise the offer and the technology. We moreover reserve the right to subsequently check the log files in case of suspected illegal use of our offer.

Server log files

The provider of the pages automatically collects and stores information in so-called server log files, which your browser automatically sends us. This includes:

  • Browser type and version
  • Operating system used
  • Referrer URL
  • Host name of the accessing computer
  • Time of server request

Such data cannot be assigned to specific persons. This data is not combined with other data sources. We reserve the right to check this data subsequently if we become aware of any specific indications of an illegal use.

Contact form

If you contact us using the online form or by e-mail, we will store the information you provide in order to be able to answer your inquiry and ask any possible follow-up questions.

SSL encryption

This site uses SSL encryption for security reasons and to protect the transmission of sensitive contents, such as inquiries that you send to us as site operator. You can recognise an encrypted connection by the fact that the browser’s address bar switches from "http://" to "https://" and a lock symbol appears there as well. If SSL encryption is enabled, the data that you send us cannot be read by third parties.

Integration of third party services and contents

Our offer sometimes includes contents, services and services of other providers. These include, for instance, maps provided by Google-Maps, videos from YouTube as well as graphics and images from other websites. In order for the user to access and view such data in the browser, the IP address must be transmitted. The providers (hereinafter referred to as "third party provider") in other words perceive the IP address of the respective user.

Even though we strive to use only third party providers which only need the IP address for being able to delivery contents, we do not have any control over whether the IP address is stored. In this case, this process is used for statistical purposes, among other things. Should we become aware of the fact that IP addresses are stored, we will inform our users.

This website uses so-called cookies, which are text files that are stored on your computer by the server. They contain information about the browser, the IP address, the operating system and the internet connection. We do not pass such data on to third parties or associate it with personal information without consent. Cookies fulfill two primary tasks. They helps us to facilitate your navigation through our offering and ensure the correct presentation of our website. They are not used for placing a virus on your computer or launching a program. We use the social network plug-ins of Facebook on our website (address: 1601 South California Avenue, Palo Alto, CA 94304, USA). We have no control over the type and scope of the data collected, stored and processed by Facebook. We can only inform you in accordance with our current level of knowledge.

Facebook is informed via the plug-in that you have accessed the corresponding web page of our offering. This also applies to users who do not have a Facebook account. In such case, it is possible that Facebook stores the IP address. If you have a Facebook account and are logged in, your visit to a website with a Facebook plug-in can definitely be assigned to your Facebook user account. In addition to that, the plug-ins transmit every interaction carried out, for instance, when you use the Like button or leave a comment. To prevent Facebook from storing information about you, log out of Facebook before visiting our web pages. You can also block the plug-ins with the aid of add-ons for your browser (e.g. Facebook Blocker).
